Christmas Eve Eve......`
Time to share what we have been up the the past few busy days. We started celebrating Christmas on Thursday night when kacys bro josh was in town. He wasn't able to come over on Christmas so we did a special thing just with him. Kacys mom went all out and made the homemade chicken noodle soup which honestly I might love more than traditional Christmas dinners. The girls got to open there stuff from josh and he always picks out fun unique stuff. This year he brought brie some Floam......its like the molding stuff that is a bunch of sticky little balls. its so much fun to play with and it never drys out lol. It was a nice way to start off the present opening.
Christmas Eve.......
Every year we do Christmas Eve dinner with my mom and this year my bro wasn't going to be able to spend Christmas morning with us so we did presents and everything with him that night. For dinner we did our annual fondue with a cheese and an oil pot. we dipped veggies, bread, potatoes, poppers, chicken, and steak and enjoyed lots of wine and champagne. My bros gf's kids were also here so brie had a lot of fun playing with them and then everyone opened gifts from each other. After they left it was time to get ready for Santa so we picked out cookies and milk to leave and went outside to sprinkle special reindeer food ( crushed up mini wheats). We read 3 special Christmas books: Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas, the polar express, and the jolly Christmas postman. The girls went to sleep, Santa did his thing and we even had time to relax in the hot tub before going to bed too.
Christmas Morning
Brie was up nice and early at 7 to see if Santa came. The first thing she wanted to see was if he ate his cookies, which he did and then she checked out her full stocking and the couple presents Santa left. We did have a big Santa present for the girls but it didn't work out because brie accidentally saw it a few days before but didn't know what it was. My mom built and then sewed a puppet theater that turned out amazing but because brie had seen it in marks room she goes "oh that's just marks thing" . Good thing Santa was prepared and made sure to hunt down the one thing that brie asked for, a soft Rapunzel doll that she could sleep with. Thank you ebay for saving me on that one. So she got the doll and then Santa also brought these great royal family puppets. They were probably the most spendy ones I found online at 20 dollars a piece but they were so much cuter than all the others. Darn Hearth Song and Magic cabin with your amazing toys. After a yummy breakfast of huckleberry chocolate chip scones we moved onto the pile of presents under the tree. It probably took a good 3 hours to open everything because brie likes to open everything up and play with it for a while before moving on to the next thing. They got lots of more puppets, jesse from toy story, all the barbie princess dolls, monster bowling, this fun little wheelie set, some moon dough, mr. potato head, these cool night lights, and lots more that I cant remember...yeah lets say SPOILED. Oh and I forgot about myself, I got the most amazing ugg boots ever! I love my Ugg slippers but these are so comfy and warm. I also got all these fun cookie cutters and a cookie press. And this was just the beginning......
Christmas Day
Off to Kacys mom we went and as soon as we got there we did our stockings there and started on the piles of presents. Lets see some of the fun stuff was a princess castle tent and a huge box of dress up stuff for miss brie and a costco membership and lots of gift cards for me and kacy. I think my favorite thing though was a necklace kacys mom gave me that is three little charms, two are little girls with Brie and Gigi's birthstones in them and the middle one is a heart that says mom. It was just so cute! i was also excited to give kacys mom a special rock that Mark Ogle painted for her, she collects rocks and it turned out so cool! There was tons of more stuff but I cant even remember it all. Then we had out yummy dinner which was thanksgiving all over again. I know a lot of people do prime rib but im a fan of the turkey dinner again! Our Christmas night tradition is for all the kids ( 20 year old kids) to go to a movie...this year we saw True Grit and it was so so good I was surprised. After we took our tired selves home and just crashed.
Boxing Day ( for those of you who dont know ie: everyone boxing day is what we Canadians call the day after Christmas)
I spent most of the day trying to find homes for the new stuff and sorting through the old stuff and for the first year ever took down the tree already....but lets admit it, our tree was looking quite hagered. We also went and did a little shopping with the gift cards and got the new Donkey Kong game for wii. And this is where im going to end this LONG boring post and go try this game out!
Hope everyone had their own amazing days with their family and friends and no matter what you did or got remember that the day is all about loving each other and being together!
