Vaccination
Wow so i have been feeling a little bad about the fact that i stopped taking brie for her vaccines. I am concerned with both sides of the choice but was surprised to see im not alone on my choice to wait. Ever since day one in the hostpital Brie stated getting her shots. When they asked us if we wanted to do one that early i didnt know what to do. Kacy was pro vaccinating and was reassured by his mom who is a nurse to get them done but i have never felt completely right. Up until her first birthday she went to all her well baby checkups and got shots at all of them. Poor little thing i think we had to get them at every appointment and usually 3 sometime 4 a visit. She had one MMR shot. After she turned one we missed her next appointment because we were out of town. When we called in they never tried to re-schedule so we stopped going. Brie is sooo healthy and has maybe had 2 colds ever so we have not really had a reason to go. This gave me an excuse to stop having her vaccinated at least for now. Im not sure who i believe about autism being caused by preservatives put in shots but for the parents that have had completely healthy kids who changed the day they received there MMR's I dont think it can be a coincidence. So as for now we are going to wait and when it comes time for school where they are required we will re think then. But thank you other Blog moms who dont make me feel so bad because you havnt been either!

Well by now you probably know that I don't vaccinate. Madison only got the ones at the hospital and her 3 months one. Austin only got the vit. k shot.
ReplyDeleteI just feel right now I'd rather wait since I am hesitant towards them then just doing it because I feel the pressure of society to do so. Some day we can get caught up if I feel the need. And by then I won't be pumping shots into my little baby every 3 months!!!
Not that I'm against any one who DOES do them. It just isn't the right choice for MY family. Jake's never been vaccinated. Ever. I had all my shots throughout school and got a flu shot when I was pregnant with Madison. It was my last vaccination seeing as how that year happened to the be time that I had the WORST FLU EVER. So the flu shot did NOTHING for me!! lol. So I've seen both sides and both Jake and I are both happy, NORMAL, adults. From both sides of the coins! But on the flip side this day and age our kids get WAY more shots then in 1986!
Anyways. Kind of rambling. Sorry to spew all that on you!
