Little Bo Peep

Went all out for the girls halloween costumes again this year. I was originally going to have them be a butterfly and a caterpillar but I couldn’t figure out how to do the caterpillar. Then I stumbled across this Little Bo Peep dress on Etsy and fell in love. It was selling for 300 so that was out of the question but after seeing it no other dress would do, so I did what I do best with my champagne taste on a beer budget and made my own.

I have to give my mom all the credit for sewing it together because that is not my strong thing but we spent so much time just getting the perfect fabric and embellishment's until it looked very similar to the original. The hat was the hardest because I couldn’t find one anywhere but on the day before halloween we made a floppy bonnet and put it over an old easter hat and I think it turned out really good!

The dress we copied……..

And our finished project…….

I forgot to mention we also had a disaster when it came to the shepards hook. I had ordered it on ebay about a month before we needed it and as it kept getting closer to halloween I got worried it wasnt going to show. Sure enough when I checked the sellers page it looked like they had skipped off with the money and closed down shop. I now had 2 days to get a new hook or else we would no have a very good little bo peep. Thank you 2 day air shipping from a costume store, you saved the day.

Spa Day

Brie needed her hair washed but didnt want to take a bath so I said we could wash it in the sink, So we set it all up for her to lay on and she asks if she can have cucumbers on her eyes too. So then we figured we might as well go all out and put on the robe and do a face mask too. She didnt like the mask though so we had to take it right off. Girly girls I have!

Butterfly

We did one of those butterfly kits this spring where you order the caterpillars and then watch them turn into butterflies All five survived and when it got nice and sunny this week we let them go. When Brie opened upt he thing 2 flew away right away but two of them were still just hanging out so they actually let her pick them up and hold them before they flew away.

Swimming Lessons

Bries first class of swimming lessons ended yesterday and so for the last day we were allowed to go in and take pictures finally! Her class had four kids in it and she made friends with one little boy, Quin. She seems to love her lessons and asks every day if its swimming day so we signed her up for the next level, she is now a Pollywog 2! Some of the things they practiced in this class was jumping off the side and going under water, kicking on their front and backs, going under water and getting toys off the bottom of the pool, and floating on their backs. She also really liked her teacher, even though she never learned her name lol. She drew her a picture and gave it to her at the end of the class and it said "To Swimming Teacher From Brie" Im glad she had so much fun and wants to continue on.
